Kathmandu, 4 May: As Corona Virus pandemic continues to create havoc in the country, the government has decided to cease all the national census-related work for the time being. “Owing to the multiplying cases of Covid-19, the twelfth national census has been postponed for the time being”, Parbat Gurung Minister for Communication and Information Technology is quoted as saying in the media in course of sharing the decision of the Cabinet meeting held on Sunday.
National census has regularly been conducted since 1911 and this is the first time it has been halted due to pandemic.
