Kathmandu, 17 April: Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, the Chief Minister of Karnali Province has survived the no confidence motion as four of the Provincial Assembly members of the CPN-UML voted in favour of Shahi led government.
Assembly members Prakash Jwala, Kumar Raj Shahi, Nanda Singh Budha and Amar Bahadur Thapa crossed the floor sending a message to the centre that there is no alternative to unity amongst the party leaders. These four leaders reportedly back Madhav Kumar Nepal. Shahi earned 22 votes while 15 votes went against him.
