Bipul Pokhrel’s panel has swept away the journalists’ election from the federal body to the district bodies.
Pokhrel’s panel had developed an alliance among the journalists close to the Nepali Congress, Maoist Center and Madhav Nepal faction in the UML.
Nirmala Sharma had developed a separate panel of those journalists closed to the K.P. Sharma Oli led faction.
Ramesh Bista, Bala Adhikari and Uday GM are the vice president elected from the Pokhrel led panel.
The elections were held on 7 April nationwide. The final result of the elections was announced on 10 April.
Roshan Puri has been elected as general secretary.
Also, Govinda Prasad Chaulagain, Srijana Aryal, Dipendra Chauhan, Hemkarna BK, Narayan Kilambu and Pawan Acharya have been elected as the secretaries.
Kalendra Sejawal has won the post of treasurer along with other central members.
Each province has elected two central committee members.
Around 13000 journalists from across the country had voted for the same.
Similarly, journalists have elected Shreejan Jha as the president of the Bagmati Province and Surya Subedi as the president of the Kathmandu District, the branch comprised of the largest number of journalists.
