Kathmandu, 13 April: The embankment along the Mahakali River being constructed unilaterally by India has been halted after the inspection by a joint technical team of both Nepal and India, according to Gorkhapatra Daily. The government had sent an inspection team to Darchula after concerns were raised everywhere from media to the parliament about the construction, which is likely to change the course of the Mahakali River.
Survey team from both the countries inspected the embankment and held discussions on whether the embankment affects Nepal or not and whether it is in line with the international boundary treaties or not.
