Kathmandu, 8 April: As the cases of Covid-19 is rising in India its impact is seen in Nepal as well.The Ministry of Health and Population has recorded 298 new cases of coronavirus infection on Wednesday .
The infection was found with the PCR test conducted among 4,100 people in different parts. The Kathmandu Valley alone witnessed 163 new cases where Kathmandu district had 98, Lalitpur 26 and Bhaktapur 13. Similarly, 37 persons were tested positive for coronavirus in Chitwan and 19 in Kaski. With the latest update, the total number of infected persons has reached 278,768. In the same period, 74 persons recovered. It reached total recovery to 273,529.
Currently, the recovery rate stands at 98.1 percent. The number of active cases stands at 2,201 now. Moreover, 65 persons are staying in quarantine. The Ministry recorded three deaths- one today and two of previous days. A total of 3,038 persons succumbed to the deadly virus.
