Kathmandu, 3 April: Main opposition party Nepali Congress has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli from the post paving the way for an alternative government.
The central committee meeting of the party held on Friday has also decided to take the initiative to form an alternative government led by the party.
The central committee meeting had concluded with the decision of demanding Oli’s resignation on moral ground as the Supreme Court had altered Oli’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives.
Earlier, NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba had performed reluctance in formation of an alternative government. NC leaders Ramchandra Poudel and Krishna Shitaula were expressing dissatisfaction against president Deuba for his reluctance.
