Kathmandu, 27 March: MPs in the Madhav Nepal faction attended the meeting of the parliamentarian party called by Prime Minister and chairman KP Sharma Oli Friday.
However, Madhav Nepal and Bhim Rawal, who had submitted clarification in the party, didn’t attend the meeting called by parliamentarian party leader Oli.
Earlier, the meeting of the central committee members in the Madhav Nepal faction had held a meeting to discuss whether to attend the parliamentarian party meeting or not. At the meeting MPs in the Nepal faction expressed the view for not splitting the party but intensifying the struggle against the party establishment remaining in the party. After the meeting, MPs including J.N. Khanal attended the parliamentary party meeting held at PM’s residence Baluatar.
At the meeting, Khanal and other Nepal faction’s MPs had asked PM Oli to take back the decision taken by the first and second central committee meetings held after the restoration of UML. The first and second meetings of the central committee had taken several decisions including dismissing the post of the office bearers by keeping active the posts of the chairman and general secretary and also had amended the party statute one-sidedly.
In response, Oli had said that the decisions taken by the central committee meetings earlier cannot be taken back.
Meanwhile, Oli gave the message that the party may take action against Nepal and Bhim Rawal.
