With a surge of COVID-19 cases in India in recent days, fear has increased whether Nepal will also see a similar increase in virus cases. The update of the virus cases in the past few days also shows a rising graph of the cases.
When the cases were below two-digit until Saturday, they constantly rose in the last three days with 188 cases on Tuesday. On Monday their number was 150 and on Sunday 125.
Considering the gradual rise in new cases, the government has already issued a notice asking people not to organise seminars, mass meetings and other gatherings. The national COVID-19 caseload reached 276,244, with 188 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. And Kathmandu has the largest number of new and active cases.
On Tuesday, with 188 new cases, the total recovery tally has reached 272,097, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
In 4,032 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours on Tuesday, 188 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the MoHP through its regular press briefing.
Of the new infections, 97 were recorded in the Kathmandu Valley, including five in Bhaktapur, 16 in Lalitpur and 76 in Kathmandu.
Province wise, 103 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 61 in Gandaki, nine in Province 1, two in Province 2, 10 in Lumbini, two in Sudurpaschim and one in Karnali. Currently, there are 1,128 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation.
However, Nepal did not record any COVID-19 related death on Tuesday, and The country’s overall death toll due to the COVID-19 related health condition stands at 3,019.
