The just-concluded five-day official visit of Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari to China has been hailed by both countries as a significant gesture in buttressing the bands of Sino-Nepalese relationships. Since time memorial, especially since the normalization of diplomatic ties about four decades ago, the ties between China and Nepal has been very close which is further enhanced by the latest Adhikari visit. Chinese President Jiang Zemin, while meeting Premier Adhikari in Beijing, has expressed China’s firm commitment to increase mutual understanding and to pay special attention in promoting bilateral economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
