Oli missed the opportunity!

BABBLES

By Babbler

This Babbler saw many NC leaders as well as leaders from former UML party extending tribute to Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah on the occasion of his 299th birth anniversary and national unity day. It seems, very few leaders including Pushpakamal Dahal, Baburam Bhattarai and other political mercenaries have left who have no respect for the architect of modern Nepal.

Going through the status in social networks, all have condemned the government for not announcing the government holiday and for not observing the Great King’s birth anniversary.

If PM Oli was wise, he could announce a national holiday on the occasion as we see different government holidays which are not important. So far, he has praised the Great King’s contribution to the nation via Twitter, he could win the hearts of the majority of the people if his cabinet had announced a government holiday! Surely, he missed the opportunity!

The Law Society and Euro currency

We know, all our justices are not clean. We know, who are Kalyan Shrestha and Sushila Karki. Out of 15 living former chief justices, four former chief justices came with a statement, perhaps, a document to influence the case under the consideration of the court.

Whether the dissolution of the House of Representatives was the prerogative of the chief executive of the government or not, now, it is under the jurisdiction of the court.

In Nepal, everything is okay as legal experts carrying party flags are twisting the issue. Accordingly, the political activists are doing and they are trying their best to influence the Supreme Court and Chief Justice in favour of them. They are even ready to invite foreign elements and foreign intelligence to make their point strong.

A highly placed source claimed that ex CJ Kalyan Shrestha is closed to the westerners and his NGO the Law Society is receiving Euro currency. Ethically, whether an ex-CJ can run an NGO or not, it is a burning question, however, the Society was active in issuing the statement! Perhaps, the influence of the Euro currency!

Bishwonath Upadhaya was the chief justice when he restored the parliament. He was one of the members in the constitution drafting committee also. When he restored the parliament, he was fallen into controversy for curtailing the prerogative of the sitting prime minister. Will CJ Chholendra S Rana also follow Upadhaya’s verdict or try to avoid controversy defining the case as a political issue which is beyond the court’s jurisdiction!

Formers are the problem

If we count, still, there are five living former prime ministers in the country. Out of five, Lokendra Bahadur Chand is seen passive, otherwise, rest of all are in active politics and wishing to become the PM again. The unhealthy race and conspiracy against each other have become a serious problem in Nepal. Perhaps, this is why. Nepal is a backward and underdeveloped country.

We have spent more than three decades while watching the fight of those political leaders against each other. In these three decades, we saw different presidents in China, our immediate neighbour. Some of them are still alive but we don’t know here are they now! Perhaps they are spending a retired life and they are not disturbing the immediate president, that’s why China has become the world power both militarily and economically!

By size, Nepal is many times smaller than China, still, Chinese politics is stable, which has helped to boost her economy. Contrary to that, Nepal is a small country with big politics!
