Major cities in the country are witnessing huge rallies organised by different patriotic groups demanding restoration of the institution of monarchy and re-declaring Nepal a Hindu nation. They are against the present political system adopted by the nation. They are claiming that the present federalism, secularism, and republicanism are the foreign agendas imposed in Nepal to destroy the independent sovereign nation having its own cultural identity.
Indeed, this scribe, as like majority of the Nepali citizens, believes the present system is the result of the 12-point agreement inked in Delhi drafted by RAW and South Block officials having belief on Christianity aimed at destabilizing a sovereign independent nation Nepal and then incorporating the Himalayan Kingdom into India. Immediately after 2006 political change, at an informal dinner at a Japanese Restaurant in Maitighar, late Sharadchandra Shah, a patriotic by blood, had said to this scribe that the Indian mission initiated since 1951 has finally been fulfilled. The Indians, since 1951, had mobilized a huge fund to destroy Nepal. However, King Mahendra, his son Birendra and another son Gyanendra didn’t allow the Indians to fulfill their mission. King Birendra and his entire family members were assassinated at the Narayanhitty bloodbath against the King’s denial to approve the controversial citizenship law amendment bill. King Gyanendra was dethroned against his opposition on the Indian desire of remaining Nepal under the Indian security umbrella and Nepal’s pleading for China’s entry in the SAARC forum.
The Indian mission was either to bring Nepal under her security umbrella alike Bhutan or, if possible, to annex Nepal as like Sikkim. The Westerners were also trying to remove the institution of monarchy and Hindu status. They also joined the Indian mission in Nepal. Understandably, the Western presence in Nepal is for watching and organizing activities against China. Therefore, Westerners want its strong base in Nepal. They have analysed that religion, or say, the spread of the Christian population in Nepal would help to serve their vested interests here. Both Indians and Westerners, when saw the institution of monarchy as an obstacle, made a joint effort to remove the institution. The Nepali people have understood it clearly.
The present constitution was imposed in Nepal against the citizens’ desire through a conspiracy. A large number of intellectuals, in their interview to different television channels, are publicly claiming that above 90 percent of the general public had suggested to the then constituent assembly members collecting public opinion for not declaring Nepal a secular and republic. Constitutional experts were advocating that Nepal, a tiny country, cannot bear the load of federalism, therefore, they had suggested for empowering local bodies instead of dividing Nepal into different provinces. Within 14 years of absence of monarchy and within five years of promulgation of the present constitution of Nepal, it has been proven that the new political system has been totally failed. The political change achieved after the bloody revolution brought anarchism and anomaly in all sectors. Today, people don’t respect political leaders. They see the leaders facing different criminal charges; they see corruption on every leader’s face.
Different intellectuals are publicly saying that some leaders, namely, Subhas Nembang, Baburam Bhattarai, Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda, among others, had received a huge amount of Euros from the EU just for declaring Nepal a secular nation. Europeans had wanted to introduce around 14 provinces on the base of ethnic identity. Baburam Bhattarai, Upendra Yadav and some others are still pleading this European agenda. Perhaps, they are trying to digest the huge amount of money they have received.
Today, citizens are aware, and thus, they have come down to the streets. However, they are divided into different groups and names. They have different missions as well. Some are demanding for an active monarchy, some are for a constitutional monarchy and some are in favour of a ceremonial monarchy. First of all, they should have a common agenda of ascending the King to the throne by declaring Nepal a Hindu nation. Whether there should be an active monarchy or constitutional monarchy or a ceremonial monarchy, they can be decided later once the King is ascended to the throne. The most important thing is all have to be united and launch a joint agitation to scrap the present political system. Secondly, all the agitators should come to Kathmandu and demonstrate a massive human sea in the capital city to bring a change and to restore a system which can function in Nepal like a country by throwing away the system imposed by the foreigners!
