Kathmandu, 1 November: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has directed all 753 local levels to maintain uniformity in Nepali and English writing while mentioning formal names like local levels, provinces and country’s name.
The Ministry has issued a circular communicating that all local levels to use exact words in English which were approved by the Council of Ministers. The Cabinet has approved the words used in the English translation of the Constitution of Nepal, according to the ministry. The Cabinet has circulated the same communication to all Nepali diplomatic missions abroad.
Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is used in English to formally mention the name of the country. Similarly, not state but province and not village body but Rural Municipality are approved.
