The Nepali Congress has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to show special seriousness to save people from the COVID-19 pandemic by providing free PCR test and treatment to the infected people.
NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma, issuing a statement on Monday, warned the government to act in line with the existing laws.
The party also said the government’s decision to not test and provide treatment to the people was an extremely irresponsible act.
Stating that the government could not run away from its responsibility of providing free treatment during the pandemic as provisioned in the law, the party said the government should bear the costs of test and treatment of all the people who were facing economic crisis amid the pandemic.
Referring to the recent decision of the Supreme Court, the NC questioned whose government it was which did not pay heed to the voice of people, media, the opposition and the court.
