Kathmandu, 16 October: The government has urged the European Union (EU) to lift the ban on Nepali airlines, stating that Nepal has maintained adequate safety measures in the aviation sector of late.
In a meeting, with Ambassador of European Union to Nepal, Nona Deprez, Minster for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa requested her to lift the ban. Ambassador Deprez made it clear that the EU’s ban on Nepal’s aviation sector was technical one and EU’s technical committee was studying on it. She, however, hoped that conclusion would be reached soon on it.
