The Council of Ministers has appointed Shankar Bairagi as the chief secretary of the government.
Similarly, the Cabinet meeting recommended Yuvaraj Khatiwada for ambassador to the United States. Lokdarshan Regmi has been recommended as the Nepali Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Bairagi was serving as the foreign secretary and Lakdarshan Regmi as the chief secretary. Similarly, Dr. Khatiwada was the Finance Minister till a month ago in the present government. However, the appointments created a new round of dispute in the ruling Nepal Communist Party stating that the Prime Minister appointed them without consulting with the party leaders.
