Kathmandu,26 September: For the first time, the government of Israel has decided to employ 500 Nepali nurses and health workers.It had recently decided to employ 2,500 such health workers and care givers globally.
An agreement relating to providing employment opportunities to Nepali nurses is to be signed by the Nepali ambassador to Israel and the Israeli foreign minister on September 30, according to Kantipur daily.
Israel has stated that there will be no opportunity for the private sector for the time being, only the aspiring candidates from the governmental institutions are eligible. The required qualification for the Nepalis is set as minimum school graduation with 15 months training of health related subject or high school graduate with three months training of care giving, having fluency in spoken English.
The process of recruitment is starting within a month. The selected candidates have to arrange all expenses including medical checkup,air ticket,insurance. Each care giver is entitled to enjoy $1,500 per month whereas $310 is reduced for accommodation. In addition to this there will be provided extra allowances.
Previously private manpower agencies were found involved in fraudulent activities that resulted prohibition of such companies in supplying care givers.
