Nepali Congress general secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.
After undergoing PCR test in the capital, he confirmed the infection through his tweet.
In a tweet, Koirala confirmed he was tested positive for COVID-19 and was in home isolation in the consultation of doctors.
He urged his colleagues and others who were in contact with him to be alert.
He said he had no health problem and would overcome the virus at the earliest.
