BABBLES: President of NCP

BABBLER

President of NCP

By the constitution of the country, Bidya Devi Bhandari is the President of the nation. She is thus considered above party politics. Unfortunately, President Bhandari has not been to become the President of the nation as she has not been able to stand above the party politics. Just on Saturday, Bhandari was busy in rescuing NCP elected Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from the ongoing crisis by developing an alliance between NCP chairmen duo Oli and Pushpakamal Dahal.

Bhandari’s present role has justified the significance of the institution of monarchy as the institution remained above the party politics.

Another odd is that the PM’s official residence has turned into the NCP headquarters! How the leaders in the ruling party are misusing the government premises, this is an example.

Musical chair show

Three senior NCP leaders — KP Sharma Oli, Pushpakamal Dahal and Madhav Nepal — are performing the musical chair show to the entire globe. At a time when the nation and the people are suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic followed by natural calamity caused by heavy rains, the leaders in the ruling party are staging power grasping drama.

The sudden Saturday twist in NCP politics has puzzled NCP senior leader Madhav Nepal. Nepal was confirmed that he would bow down KP Oli. Suddenly, the situation has been altered as Oli proclaimed the party’s unification national convention in November/December and Prachanda came to support the decision.

Again, on Sunday morning, the drama took another twist as Dahal declined any agreement between Oli and him, which has puzzled Oli.

When Prachanda was encircled by Madhav Nepal the next day, Prachanda had given the clarification that Oli had called him to come to the President’s Office for a meeting.

The three leaders are sleepless and suspicious against each other that what next conspiracy is going to be surfaced against them!

The Covid-19 politics

Many things cannot be understood in the rule of the Nepal Communist Party. The Health Minister said that on average 10 thousand throat swab tests will be conducted daily. The next day, the Health Ministry sent a circular stating that the throat swab test should not be conducted even to those who are in quarantine unless some Covid-19 related symptoms are seen. People are visiting lab centers to confirm the infection. They are not allowed to conduct a PCR test. The government is conducting less than five thousand tests daily. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry spokesman has claimed that the Covid-19 infection rate has been surprisingly declined in Nepal.

Reality is that migration of people from India, where the Covid-19 infection rate is surprisingly high, continues with a high probability of carrying the virus in their bodies.

Experts are claiming that there could be five times more Covid-19 infected people in the Kathmandu Valley than the number claimed by the government authorities.

Maybe, the government is planning to declare Nepal as a coronavirus free nation by stopping throat swab tests!
