Giri sacked from party, parliament
By Our Reporter
Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal has finally sacked Sarita Giri as lawmaker and party member for defying the party’s decision to unanimously endorse the constitution amendment proposal to insert the updated map of Nepal in the Coat of Arms.
A three-member panel led by party general secretary Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav recommended that the party should sack Giri from both as a lawmaker and the party member, and the meeting of the officer bearers of the party on Tuesday decided accordingly.
Giri had registered an amendment to the constitutional amendment bill registered by the government in Parliament on May 22. The bill was endorsed unanimously by both the Houses of Parliament. Giri had boycotted the House after Speaker Agni Sapkota scarpped her proposal. She had rejected the party’s instruction to withdraw the proposal.
Giri had been working as a true Indian agent in Nepal’s parliament. She had opposed the government decision to update Nepal’s map including the land encroached by India. The decision of the Samajwadi Party Nepal to sack her has been commended by people in social sites
