BABBLES: Naive Indian media

Naive Indian media

By Babbler

These days, since Nepal amended her constitution by adopting a new map incorporating Nepal’s Kalapani-Limpiyadhura territory, the Indians have become mad and they have launched aggressive media war against Nepal. Indians believe, Nepal is able to survive due to the Indian support!

Some of the media persons seem very naïve on the situation as well. One Indian media person stationed in Kathmandu has remarked that India has made a big favour by allowing currency tie-up between the two nations!

The fact is that Nepali currency is not accepted in India. The exchange rate with the Indian currency has been fixed by Nepal and it has no concern with the Indians as Nepali currency is not acceptable for the Indians. We need Indian currency as we have trade deficit. Even we buy Indian currency by spending our foreign currency reserve as imports from India are very huge.

Indeed, we have made big favour to Indians by making Nepal as India’s dumped market courtesy non-visionary leaders in the government.

Difference between Sarita Giri and Ganga Chaudhari

Sarita Giri is an Indian daughter married to a Nepali national. Ganga Chaudhari is a Nepali daughter. Giri is a naturalized citizenship holder and enjoying MP’s position by exploiting the fundamental rights of a native Nepali woman. As she is an Indian by birth, she speaks in favour of the Indian interests. Chaudhari, on the other hand, speaks in Nepal’s interests being a Nepali daughter!

The difference is that Giri is naïve about the citizenship provision in India. Why Sonia Gandhi was unable to become the prime minister of India, perhaps, Giri is unaware!

Media mafias exploiting working journalists

The Kantipur Media Group’s publisher has constructed his residence in a big area of land in Budhanilkantha, the area known to be very expensive, from the profit he earned from media.

Within around three months of lockdown, as the publications faced loss, the publisher closed down some weekly publications by making the journalists working there jobless!

With the hard efforts of journalists the publisher earned money but he could not wait for some months to recover the loss, rather shut down the publications!

Some of the media mafias running broadsheet dailies and electronic media are involved in misuse of government tax, money laundering and other illegal business, including manpower supply. The government is unable to take action against them.

Besides, they are exploiting journalists even not giving them appointment letter! This is the plight of those working journalists associated with big media!

Party meeting at Baluatar

We know, which paper is sponsored by which leader. One daily sponsored by Pushpakamal Dahal has raised the issue that the government has misused taxpayers’ money by holding party meetings at PM’s official residence in Baluatar. This is, in fact, reported with the instruction of Dahal to defame Oli and this is not a new issue as well.

People’s Review is one among the newspapers, which has been continuously raising the issue since the then prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala started to hold party meetings at Baluatar.

As NC started to misuse the taxpayers’ money for the party, others also followed the same. Even if Dahal will become the PM, he will also do the same.

Be that as it may, such a practice has to be ended.
