Indians are recruiting Nepalis in the Indian Army not for easy tasks but for dangerous and dirty jobs. There is the Gorkha Regiment in the Indian Army and the Regiment is always being deployed in danger zones. The Regiment is used as the offensive force by the Indian Army and is being deployed in the disputed areas such as Jambu and Kashmir in India-Pakistan border, where exchange of fire is common. Accordingly, during the war with China and also during the Doklam stand-off between India and China, the Gorkha Regiment was deployed in the disputed territory. In the Kargil war between India and Pakistan, the Gorkha force was used as the offensive force.
On the above background, while constructing the link road by the Indian Army by encroaching Nepali territory in Kalapani, use of Gorkha Force cannot be denied as the construction job was a risky task, as stated by Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh while inaugurating the link road.
If so, the Indians have used our own Nepalis to encroach Nepali territory, whether our communist leaders in the government are aware about it or not!
