Growing road accidents, matter to worry

At least 40 people lost life in road accidents in a week in Nepal. Nineteen passengers died when a passenger bus headed to Butwal from Sandhikharka skidded off the road and fell some 250 metres below, along a sharp bend at Narapani in Sandhikharka-6.on November 27.
Similarly, at least 14 persons were killed when a passenger jeep met a fatal accident along the Baglung-Burtibang section of the Mid-hill Pushpa Lal Highway on Tuesday.
The passengers travelling in the jeep with registration Ga 1 Ja 521 were heading towards Nishikhola Rural Municipality-2 in Baglung district to attend their clan deity worship function when the accident occurred at Badigadh Rural Municipality-7 in Balgung district.
The jeep veered off some 150 metres down to the Kopche gorge from the road side.
Earlier on Sunday, seven people were killed when an ambulance and a truck collided head on in Sunsari. Six of the deceased were of the same family.
Overload and high speed are blamed for all the accidents.
