The Samajwadi Party Nepal led by Baburam Bhattarai and Upendra Yadav has decided to remain in the government. A meeting of the party’s federal council held recently decided not to quit the government.
However, Bhattarai has been publicly advocating for quitting the government.
It was reported that the party decided to remain in government after it came to know that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was wooing the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal leaders to induct them in the government.
If RJP joins the government and Samajwadi party quits it, the power equation in the Terai will be reversed. Again, personally Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav cannot quit the government for completing a few projects which are under construction in Siraha.
After the Samajwadi Party decided not to quit the government, PM Oli will reshuffle the Cabinet leaving DPM Yadav and State Minister.
