Kathmandu, 20 November :The Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has finalized the work division of the party’s the two chairmen to make the role of the party and the government more effective.The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar today decided that party chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli would run the government while another chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will run the party with the executive role.
“Decision has been made according to which Chairman Oli will concentrate on the government’s works in the capacity of the Prime Minister while another chairman Prachanda will concentrate on running the party with the executive responsibility,” party spokesman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said.The meeting also decided that PM Oli will alone lead the government for the entire term of the present House of Representatives, giving a message of political stability.
The meeting has however retained the previous order of precedence of the Chairmen duo. A decision has been made by which the two chairmen will jointly chair the party’s meetings but Chairman Prachanda will conduct the meeting’s proceedings.Similarly, a decision has been taken to run the party and the government through mutual consultations between the two chairmen.Spokesman Shrestha said that no discussions were held on the topic of Cabinet reshuffling in the meeting. The party spokesman however said that the Prime Minister would reconstitute the Council of Ministers at the earliest.
