Kathmandu, 18 November: Former King Gyanendra, along with his family, visited Lord of Drinks dance bar in Thamel on Saturday night. He also met with locals and foreigners present there and performed dance with them. A video of the former King dancing with general public has become viral in social networks. Thousands of people have already watched the video and commended the former King for his simplicity, politeness and mingling with the public. The former King also gave opportunity to take group photographs to them present in the bar.
Cine artist Keki Adhikari appreciated the former King saying she was surprised when the former King said that he knows her better and he had watched his film also.
Adhikari said, “The former King came down to the floor from balcony and mingled with us”.
Meanwhile, Rastriya Prajatantra Party chairman Kamal Thapa has twitted stating the event as an example of the Party imagined democracy along with the King.
“People’s king, citizen king, who becomes happy in happiness of people; feels sorrow in the plight of the people and stays with the people,” Thapa has stated.
“The institution of Monarchy — under the constitution and symbol of unity!” he has mentioned.
In the video, the King was seen dancing along with his daughter-in-law former Crown Princess Himani on the song “Rato Ra Chandra Surya!”.
