All the members of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s private secretariat, including advisers, are told to have tendered their resignation to the prime minister this week. The resignations, as reported in the media will come into effect from November 17. However, there has not been any official view on the en-masse resignation of the Prime Minister’s advisors.
It was said that the resignations were tendered to help the PM form a new team. A source added that the PM had sought their resignations.
It was also reported that the resignations were sought by the PM to send a message to his Cabinet members to voluntarily quit so that he could form a new Cabinet to make the government’s performance more effective.
The PM has not been happy with the performance of some of his Cabinet members but he didn’t want to remove them from the Cabinet as that could adversely affect their public image.
Those who tendered resignation included PM’s Chief Adviser Bishnu Rimal, Press Adviser Kundan Aryal, Foreign Affairs Adviser Rajan Bhattarai, Public Relations Adviser Achyut Mainali, Press Coordinator Chetan Adhikari and Media Expert Ram Sharan Bajgai.
