Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s health has deteriorated as suggested by the media report.
Although PM Oli said he was not unwell as reported, his frequent visit to hospital and body suggest otherwise.
Last week, he spent two days in the Grande International Hospital on Wednesday and Thursday and he underwent a dialysis on Sunday.
It was reported that he had to undergo three dialysises a week, suggesting that his transplanted kidneys stopped functioning properly.
However, after undergoing a dialysis, he looks perfect and works as usual. But his health has caused a chaos in political circle as to what course the politics will take if something unwanted happens and who will succeed him in the government.
Although Pushpa Kamal Dahal, another chair of the ruling party, is the legitimate successor in the government, he cannot become the parliamentary party leader in the current situation and without being the parliamentary party leader he cannot become the Prime Minister.
The NCP is dominated by the former UML leaders while the former Maoists are weak in the party. As such, chances for Dahal to be the PM for the third time look slim. Within the UML faction, Madhav Kumar Nepal will be a natural successor of Oli. However, there are Ishwar Pokharel and Subas Nembang to challenge Nepal. And if Dahal is not allowed to become the new PM, the NCP is most likely to spilt, causing instability again.
