The government has replaced chiefs of all seven States with new faces.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office to all new State Chiefs on Tuesday.
She had appointed them at the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on Monday.
The newly appointed State Chiefs are Somnath Adhikari Pyasi for State-1, Tilak Pariyar for State-2, Bishnu Prasain for State-3, Amik Sherchan for Gandaki State, Dharmanath Yadav for State-5, Govinda Prasad Kalauni for Karnali State and Sharmila Panta for Sudur Paschim State.
On Sunday, President Bhandari had relieved former seven State governors upon the recommendation of the cabinet decision held on Sunday.
The government recommended the names of the new State chiefs as per a decision of a secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).
However, NCP leader Madhav Kumar Nepal registered a note of dissent in the decision, sowing seed of new dispute in the party.
Meanwhile, the main opposition party Nepali Congrss has opposed the move of the Oli goverment. The party President Sher Bahadur Deuba has stated that such move of the government only weakens the foundations of democracy.
