Oli-Prachanda-Madhav Nepal’s relations based on suspect and doubts

By Our Reporter
With Madhav Kumar gradually gaining strength in the ruling Nepal Communist Party, the situation in the party has become like that of snake, frog and scorpion, where no one is free of fear.
Until a few months ago, Prime Minister and one of the chairs of the NCP, KP Oli, used to look all powerful in the party. But now there is no such situation. And Nepal has become the real kingmaker. If he sides with Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Oli is sure to lose his grip, and if Nepal joins hands with Oli, political career of Dahal may come to an end, because an alliance between Nepal and Oli will be enough to keep Dahal out of ring of power for ever. Therefore, both Oli and Dahal fear Nepal, and none of them wants to irk Nepal. This was also reflected in the selection of the in-charge of the districts and metropolitan city recently.
Earlier, Oli and Dahal dared to ignore Nepal while constituting the State level party committees, but such act became dearer for the party unification process as it was delayed by months when Nepal opposed the formation of the state committees.
Now Dahal is looking for the top post in the government, and which will be impossible by not maintaining a good rapport with both Nepal and Oli. Same is the situation with Oli, if Dahal and Nepal forge an alliance, he cannot remain as PM for long.
Interestingly, Nepal though now holds no important post in the party except for secretariat member, looks all powerful in the ruling NCP.
