Kathmandu, 5 July: After being convicted of Sudan scam by the Supreme Court more than two years ago, former Inspecdtor General of Police Ramesh Chand Thakuri has been sent to prision in connection with Sudan Scam.
As he surrendered before the apex court on Thursday, acting upon the verdict of joint bench of the then Chief Justice Sushila Karki and Justice Bishwambhar Shrestha to send him in jail for a year while slapping a fine of Rs 40,000 on April 30, 2017. He had been absconding since the verdict was issued.
