Kathmandu, 19 May: The Embassy of Nepal in Beijing marked the 2563rd Buddha Jayanti amidst a function on Saturday.
On the occasion, nearly a dozen Chinese Buddhist monks from the Buddhist Association of China offered prayers while participants also joined them for universal peace and harmony.
To mark the Buddha Jayanti, Ambassadors of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to China, diplomats including a former Chinese ambassador to Nepal and others were present on the occasion, according to Nepal Embassy in Beijing.
The programme was attended by more than hundred participants including Nepali scholars in China and Chinese nationals as well.
