Kathmandu, 11 May: The Red Cross is a reputed international humanitarian agency that renders assistance at the time of extreme emergency but Nepal Red Cross Society has become a synonymous of corruption.
According to Sanghu vernacular weekly rampant corruption of this sacrosanct institution in Nepal has tarnished the international image. The mis-management of Central Office of the Society, ill programs and polices has further vitiated its repute as the Central committee is sunken in corruption be it the building construction of blood transfusion centre or ware house irregularities and dishonest dealings are prevalent. Other small projects including rural drinking water projects too are marred by corruption.
