Government land in banks, Nepal Rastra Bank unaware

Kathmandu, 29 April: Government land in Baluatar captured by land mafias is found kept in different commercial banks as collator withdrawing billions of rupees by them, Naya Patrika daily reports.

The land has been separated into 334 kittas due to frequent selling and purchasing. The land owners have withdrawn 30 billion rupees by keeping the land as collator in different commercial banks. As the government has blocked sales and transfer of the land, commercial banks are facing crisis in their investment.

Large amount of money has been withdrawn from the Investment Bank, NABIL Bank, Prabhu Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Everest Bank, NIC Asia Bank and SBI Bank, according to the Land Registration office.

The Nepal Rastra Bank, central bank of the country is unaware about withdrawing money from banks by giving collator of the government owned land.
