Kathmandu, 5 October: The central working committee meeting of the Nepali Congress called for today has been adjourned after a dispute among the senior leaders on the draft of the statute of its sister organization Nepal Student Union (NSU).
Chief secretary of the NC CWC Krishna Poudel informed that due to the special reason the meeting called for today had been adjourned for 7 October.
However, according to the senior NC leaders, the meeting was adjourned after dispute on the draft of the statute of NSU.
NC leaders are divided on the provision of 32 years age limit in its student organization.
Deuba faction’s students are of the view of keeping the age limit of 32 years, whereas, Ramchandra Poudel and Krishna Shitaula are against this provision. Meanwhile, party general secretary Dr Shashank Koirala also supported Poudel and Shitaula and warned to boycott the meeting if imposed the 32 years age limit in party’s student organization.
After Koirala’s warning, Deuba was compelled to adjourn the meeting, reports Ratopati online portal.
