Kathmandu, 28 September: In spite of the government’s claim to supply drinking water from Melamchi before Dasain festival, the project works are going to be completed only after two months and the dream of Kathmandu people for drinking water from Melamchi is not going to fulfill during the Dasain festival this year.
Suryaraj Kandel, project chief of the Melamchi Drinking Water has claimed that within two months from now onward, the Melamchi water will be supplied in Kathmandu, according to the Kantipur daily.
Finishing works in the 10 km long tunnel are yet to be completed, he informed.
Minister for Drinking Water Bina Magar had claimed that the government would supply Melamchi water before the Dasain festival this year.
