On the occasion of the 78th National Day of Pakistan, flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu on 23 March.
Dr Mazhar Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan hoisted the national flag. On the occasion special messages of President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were also read. Officials of the Embassy, Pakistani community in Kathmandu and representatives of media participated in the ceremony.
On the same evening the Ambassador hosted a reception at the Hotel Hyatt Regency. Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. The reception was attended by diplomats, Nepalese dignitaries, senior Government officials, prominent political leaders, Pakistani community members, academicians, members of think tanks, businessmen, bankers, senior media representatives and members of civil society.
Pakistan Embassy also organized a special musical night to celebrate Pakistan’s national day in which renowned Pakistani Singer Ms Sara Raza Khan mesmerized the audience.
