Arrest of an alleged German pedophile in the capital on Sunday comes as shocking news for the parents who are sending their wards with the foreigners. Many westerners might have been running schools and other institutions with an ill intention of abusing the children sexually.
A police squad deployed by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) detained 63-year-old German national Hans Jurgen Gustav Dahm from Bhotebaahal-11 in Kathmandu.
The police also rescued two children aged 13 years after raiding the flat the German had owned.
He has been remanded in custody for seven days so that the police can conduct further investigation against him. A preliminary police investigation showed that he has been staying here for more than four years.
