Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli who often criticizes the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, has made a U turn this week by announcing that the government was ready to work together with the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, for the development of the country.
While inaugurating the National Labour and Employment Conference-2019 in Kathmandu on Sunday, the Prime Minister said, “The government has a craving for working together with the opposition party to accomplish the development goals.”
Stating that the tags of ruling and main opposition parties were temporary and periodic, the Prime Minister said that development and prosperity were essential for all.
Obviusly, the Prime Minister, who is also a chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party was compelled to be soft towards NC when another chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal was making good relations with the NC leaders. Dahal was preparing to challenge PM Oli if the deviated from agreement by working with the NC.
Again, the PM must have realised how the situation would turn worse if he continued to irk the NC, which he faced in the parliament a few weeks ago when he failed to address the meeting.
Moreover, the fear whether the federalism turns non-functional compelled the PM to woo the NC.
“I would like to appeal to the NC to move ahead by joining hands with the ruling party as the nation is common to all of us,” Prime Minister Oli said.
