Swet Chaitya to be translated into Chinese

Kathmandu, 18 May:  Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, held a meeting with noted expert on culture, Satya Mohan Joshi, at the latter’s residence in Patan on Friday. Joshi was feted on his 100th birthday four days ago.

Joshi, sharing his connection with China, informed the visiting Chinese envoy about his works, research in Chinese literature as well as works in Nepal-China and Araniko, the Nepali architecture who earned a high honour in China.

During the meeting, Chinese envoy Yanqi informed Joshi that his book Swet Chaitya (White Pagoda) written by him would be translated into Chinese. The Chinese embassy in Nepal was going to translate the book keeping in mind the Visit Nepal Year 2020

The book has documented the philosophical aspects of Stupa constructed by Nepali sculptor Araniko in China as a symbol of Nepal-China friendship in the 13th century.
