Kathmandu, 11 July: The major opposition Nepali Congress has wxpressed serious concern over the killing of a police person Sanjiv Rai on duty and cadres of Netra Bikram Chanda-led group, Nir Kumar Rai, in Bhojpur district on Wednesday.
Issuing a statement, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said the country which has entered into the journey of peace and prosperity following a decade-long violence and conflict was not ready for bloodshed again. “NC appeals to both the ruling party and dissenting force to take these incidents seriously and immediately seek measure for solution,” the statement reads, urging the Biplab ground to join peaceful politics by giving up violence.
Moreover, the NC reminded, “It is the duty of the government to take into confidence all sides dissenting the constitution and waging violent measures. Present government needs to find the relevance of NC’s able leadership that brought then Maoist rebellion into the peace process.”
The NC, which demanded a parliamentary probe committee on the Sarlahi earlier, also urged the government to make public the facts on Bhojpur incident.
