Hiding in their own shame

Soon after the deadly bomb blasts in Kathmandu, Pushpa Kamal Dahal who led the then underground Maoists, said the Biplav group, which was close to him cannot come to power by exploding bombs and threats of violence. With which face can he say this when he himself hid in India and perpetrated violence here? It is the same with Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, thousands were killed when he was active in the virtual civil war of that time and thousands of innocent countrymen, specially security personnel died. Now working with the same security people, he says he will bring law and order in the country. One American ambassador used to say the king may have to run away by hanging on to a helicopter, now has the time come for such leaders like Dahal and Thapa to run away? With what face can they talk of peace and isn’t it absurd when they call Biplav for talks when they themselves took to violence and refused to talk to even the parties! They seem to have no shame and they have no hiding place.
