RSS deputy chief reporter honoured

Deputy Chief Reporter of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) Sharachchandra Bhandary was honoured in recognition of his notable contribution to development of the society through journalism since mid 90s.
At a programme organised by Dr Baburam Pokharel memorial society here today, former Prime Minister and CPN leader Madhav Kumar Nepal honoured Bhandary by wrapping a shawl around him. Also honoured on the occasion were Sagun Shah, Indira Yakthumba and Dr Basudev Koirala, representing various sections of the society.
At the programme, the society announced the establishment of a fund of ten million rupees in memory of Dr Pokharel, who died last year. Former member of the Constituent Assembly, Dr Pokharel was the founder of the VS Niketan Educational Foundation.
The fund will be used to annually honour personalities contributing to various sections of the society, distribute stationeries and clothes to poor families in Karnali and Gorkha and construct a mourners’ home in Kathmandu.
