PM Oli address Siraha mass meeting

By Our Reporter
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli reached Siraha on Saturday to address the 15th memorial day of Martyr Hem Narayan Yadav in the district headquarters.
It was one of his rare visits to the Terai district. However, he assured the Terai people that the government had initiated work in different sectors for the development of Terai-Madhes.
He said that the government would reply through its actions to all rumours being spread against it.
“Numerous rumours have been spread about the government’s treatment towards Madhes. However, the government actions will answer all this,” said Oli, adding that ongoing construction of the Postal Highway, Bhairahawa International Airport and Terai Madhes Prosperity Programme were being carried out for the development of Terai-Madhes.
Stating that night flights in Jhapa Airport had been launched a few days ago, the Prime Minister maintained that the similar flight services would start from Janakpur.
Other Terai-Madhes-centric projects such as Kathmandu-Nijgadh Fast Track, Nijgadh International Airport and Kamala-Marin Diversion were also being carried out on a war footing, Oli added.
Oli stated that he was active not only for the physical but also the social development of Terai.
Ex-lawmaker and then chairman of the district chapter of former CPN-UML, Hem Narayan Yadav, had mysteriously been killed at Kamala River, bordering Siraha and Dhanusha districts, on February 2, 2004.
