‘No more freezing of Sumargi’s bank account’

Kathmandu 28 May:The Supreme Court has lifted the blocked bank account of businessman Ajeya Raj Sumargi owned Mukti Shree Cement Pvt Ltd.

Issuing a mandamus on the writ filed by Sumargi, a division bench of Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana and Justice Bam Kumar Shrestha, on Tuesday, has ordered not to block the bank account of Sumargi and his enterprise, reports Nagarik dailies’ digital newsportal.

Earlier, a division bench of Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana and Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, on January 10, refused a stay order extension in the case and directed Nepal Rastra Bank to re-deposit a ‘controversial amount of money’ released from the bank account of the company scraping the interim order given by Justice Deepak Raj Joshi on December 25 allowing Sumargi to withdraw the money from the blocked bank account, after which Sumargi had already withdrawn amount from the bank account.
