Kathmandu, 2 November: According to the Nepal Police regulations 2071 under the Article 96, the Nepal Police officials cannot run or invest in any kind of business. In spite of such a provision, many high-ranking Nepal Police officials are found involved in business directly or indirectly.
The Mandan Deupuri incident has brought into surface that the sitting police officer had investment in the bolder mine.
Sitting DIG of the Nepal Police Sushil Bhandari and APF’s former DSP Binod Gautam were involved in running bold mining business in association with Binod Gautam. They had visited Mandan Deupur in Kavre to run bolder mine there, reports Karobar daily.
To recall, DIG Bhandari, along with two others were killed in a vehicle accident when they were returning from the site.
