Kathmandu, 14 June: Nepal took part in the Carnival of the Cultures known as Berlin Carnival – a street festival – with a procession of Nepali dance performances, music and cultural arts and decoration recently.
The five-hour long procession was held in the centre of Berlin city with almost a million-audience lining up on the pavements to watch the colourful performances and processions.
The Nepali Students Society, Germany (NSSG), NRNA Germany, Nepali Community and the Embassy of Nepal joined hands to present the unique cultural landscape of Nepal with colourful presentations of traditional and cultural dances,music and ethnic dresses.
Ramesh Prasad Khanal, Ambassador of Nepal to Germany and Embassy officials and their family members also took part in the procession enthusiastically.
On the occasion, Ambassador Khanal highlighted the significance of participation of Nepal in the Berlin Carnival and expressed appreciation to all involved for their hard work to accomplish the goal to further promote Nepal and Nepali tourism. He also stressed that such type of programmes would further contribute to promote Visit Nepal Year 2020.
