Kathmnadu, 20 May: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP)is all set to amend the controversial aspects of the Media Council Bill after widespread criticism of it.
According to Kantipur daily, the senior leaders of NCP have assured to register amendments to the clauses of the bill in the parliament instead of withdrawing it.
The bill drew flak from every section of society and the ruling party was compelled to bow down. Media personnel have been demanding the withdrawal of the provision allowing the Council to fine media outlets and journalist, publishers and editors up to Rs one million if they are found guilty.
