Local shot to death in Sunsari

A man was shot dead at Bhutaha Bazaar in Harinagar Rural Municipality-2, Sunsari, on last Thursday.
Four motorcycle-borne gunmen fired at Khursid Ansari, chairman of a local school management committee, before fleeing to India. Eyewitnesses said the shooters had arrived in two motorcycles bearing the Indian plate numbers.
The gunmen also shot Police Constable Shiva Poudel when he tried to stop them at Ghuski Bazaar.
Poudel was taken to Dharan for treatment.
The incident site, Bhutaha Bazaar, lies 15 km north of Nepal-India border.
The gunmen had managed to reach Bhutaha evading three police check-posts on the way.
The gunmen were suspected to be Indian nationals, and they dared to kill a Nepali citizen entering Nepali territory.
The locals of Bhutaha protested the killing of Khursid by taking to the street. They blamed the poor security for the attack on Khursid.
