NC and RPP MPs were placed under “home arrest” days before the three-party coalition government expected to with a vote of confidence in the House last Monday.
A total of 19 RPP MPs were taken to a tourist resort in Dhulikhale belonging to Bel Prasad Shrestha last Saturday. On Sunday, they were shifted to the Kathmandu Hotel in Maharajgung. They were restricted to contact with their colleagues but prevented from going outside the Hotel.
On the other hand, Congress MPs were put up at Hotel Shankar in Lizimpat- just as they had been herded days before the no-confidence vote against the minority UML government had been moved in parliament. Now, as then. They were not allowed to go out alone outside the hotel premises.
