Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is leaving for New York, USA, to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday. A Cabinet meeting on September 7 endorsed his 11-day visit to the USA to attend the UNGA.
This is PM Oli’s first foreign visit after he assumed the high office on July 15. However, by the time this story was filed, it seems PM Oli was not likely to hold sideline meetings with important leaders, especially Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others in New York.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dr. Rana, who is also attending the UN General Assembly, left for Canada on Monday to attend the Meeting of Women Foreign Ministers which is taking place on September 19 and 20 in Toronto.
Co-hosted by the Governments of Canada and Jamaica, the two-day event will bring together women foreign ministers from over 15 countries. Minister Dr. Rana will discuss a range of issues, including the challenges and the representation of women in public positions, leadership and governance, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
